Vlad Ciurca

About Vlad

I build events, back founders, and connect Eastern Europe's tech scene to the rest of the world.

I co-founded Techsylvania in 2014 and still run it today, along with Codiax, its sister event for senior engineers. Outside the events, I angel invest, help founders with product and go-to-market, and host small gatherings of founders and investors.

My story

I was born and raised in Transylvania and studied marketing in Cluj-Napoca. My career started in logistics, then moved into product management at a German startup. The mobile navigation product I ran there grew to around 1,000,000 users.

In 2014 I co-founded Techsylvania with a simple mission: connect Eastern Europe to the rest of the world through knowledge, networks and opportunity. Thirteen editions later, it's the region's leading tech & business event (see the numbers โ†’). Codiax, our event for senior engineers, grew out of the same community.

Today I split my time between Cluj, where Techsylvania happens, and Bucharest.
